Terms & Conditions
Please read the following important terms and conditions (Terms) before you use this website (Website) or make a Booking with us and check that they contain everything you want and nothing that you are not willing to agree to. These Terms govern your Booking and participation in connection with our Event. By making a Booking you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms then you must not use our Website or make a Booking.
In these Terms:

‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’ means Netball X Events Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

‘you’ or ‘your’ means the Team(s) represented by the Group Leader accessing and using our Website to make a Booking or make a Booking in accordance with clause 2.4

Accommodation Booking means the reservation for accommodation made by the Group Leader or Participants and made in accordance with these Terms

Booking means an Event Booking and/or Accommodation Booking and/or Transport Booking (as applicable)
-
Event means a sports event, tour, tournament or festival organised by us and which shall include the event programme and presentation ceremonies

Event Booking means the reservation made by the Group Leader for the Event and made in accordance with these Terms

Group Leader means the individual acting on behalf of the Team who is named when completing team registration on the event website or by telephone in connection with the Event Booking

Guardians means the parents, guardians, teachers or responsible adults accompanying the Players and other children at the Event
-
Participants means the Guardians, Players, club officials, spectators, children and any other individuals in connection with the Team or Players to attend or take part in the Event

Players means the children you have named as players in our player registration form and who we have approved in writing (including any players who we agree in writing to be added at a later date)

Team means the relevant sports club, school, team, organisation, group or association named when completing team registration on the event website or by telephone in connection with your Event Booking with us

If we need to contact you, we will do so by sending an email to the email address or calling you or sending an SMS on the telephone number that your Group Leader provided to us.
If you require assistance during the Event or if you have any concerns, please contact our representatives at the Event, and they will provide you with assistance as soon as reasonably possible. Details of how to locate such representatives will be provided to the Group Leader prior to the Event.
1. Introduction
1.1
If you use our Website you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
1.2
These Terms are only available in English. No other languages will apply to these Terms.
1.3
When making a Booking you agree to be legally bound by:
1.3.1
our Terms and any documents referred to in them; and
1.3.2
extra terms which may add to, or replace some of, these Terms.
All of the above documents form part of these Terms as though set out in full here.
1.4
By making a Booking, you confirm that you have communicated these Terms to your Participants and that all such Participants agree to abide by them.
1.5
References to clauses are to clauses of these Terms.
1.6
References to the singular includes a reference to the plural and vice versa.
1.7
References to writing include email but not fax.
2. Event Booking
2.1
An Event Booking can only be made by a Group Leader who is a duly authorised representative of their Team. The Group Leader confirms that they have obtained the necessary consents from Participants and their Team before making an Event Booking. The Group Leader confirms that they will obtain permission from the football association (if required by us) to attend the Event and you will provide us with proof of such permission if requested by us.

Details of our registration fees and prices for our Events including payment deadlines can be found on the event website
2.3
Below, we set out how a legally binding contract between you and us is made in connection with an Event Booking.
2.4
Subject to availability, you can make an Event Booking by either:
2.4.1
calling us on 07872 499626 Monday to Friday 10am till 7pm and speaking with a member of our team to complete the requested details for the Event Booking and paying the relevant registration fee; or
2.4.2
you complete team registration process and pay the required registration fee on the event website. Please read and check these terms carefully before submitting your application.
2.5
At our sole discretion, we may reject your Event Booking and in this case we will contact you to say we do not accept your Event Booking.
2.6
It is a condition of entering our Event that the Group Leader and all Participants book accommodation for the Event in accordance with these Terms. In the event that accommodation is not booked in accordance with these Terms, we are entitled to cancel your Booking. We are also entitled to prohibit Participants, individuals and the entire Team from entry, attendance and participation at the Event.
2.7
If the condition specified in clause 2.6 is not met and we cancel your Booking, we will not refund you any payments that you have made to us. Furthermore, we will not be liable for any additional costs or expenses incurred by you or your Participants as a result of any action taken by us including but not limited to transportation, clothing, equipment, food and other expenses.
2.8
We will only accept your Event Booking when we email you to confirm this (Event Booking Confirmation Email). At this point, subject to clause 2.5, a legally binding contract will be in place between you and us in relation to the Event Booking.
2.9
If you would like to make any changes to your Event Booking after the Event Booking Confirmation Email, please contact us as soon as possible and we will let you know if it’s possible to change your Event Booking. Please note, it may not be possible to make such changes. If we are able to make changes at your request, we may charge you for fees that we incur.
3. Provisional Event Bookings
3.1
Subject to availability, you may make a provisional Event Booking by completing the Provisional Booking process on the event website, or by calling us on 07872 499626 Monday to Friday 10am till 7pm and speaking with a member of our team. A provisional Event Booking does not guarantee the Event Booking is confirmed until we send you an Event Booking Confirmation Email.
3.2
If we accept your provisional Event Booking we will acknowledge it by email. This acknowledgment does not however mean that your provisional Event Booking has been accepted by us as a confirmed Event Booking.
3.3
To convert a provisional Event Booking into a confirmed Event Booking, please complete the Event Booking process by following the steps described at clause 2.4 within the time period specified by us which will be no more than 7 (seven) days after the date of the acknowledgement email described at clause 3.2. This involves providing all necessary details and paying the correct registration fee. If you fail to complete the Event Booking process within the time period specified by us, the provisional Event Booking will be automatically cancelled without further notice. We reserve the right to offer the Event to other clubs at our discretion.
4. Accommodation & Bookings
4.1
Once we have accepted your Event Booking and sent you an Event Booking Confirmation Email:
4.1.1
for Teams and all Participants attending an Event at Gulliver’s Theme Parks resorts, we will email the Group Leader with a unique accommodation booking web link shortly after we have emailed the Event Booking Confirmation Email. You are responsible for forwarding this booking link to the Participants for them to book accommodation for the Event by the timescales specified by us, which is normally within 3 (three) weeks of receiving booking link; or
4.1.2
for Teams and all Participants attending an Event at Gulliver’s Theme Parks resorts who notify us that they are unable to make an Accommodation Booking in accordance with clause 4.1.1, we may email the Group Leader an accommodation booking form. The Group Leader will be responsible for booking accommodation for all the Participants returning a completed accommodation booking form from by the timescales specified by us, in accordance with clause 4.1.1.
4.2

4.3
Accommodation deposits are advised at Stage 3, after the Event Booking Confirmation Email has been issued and the accommodation booking link or booking instructions have been sent. Unless confirmed otherwise in writing, a £50.00 per person accommodation deposit will usually be required at the time of securing the Accommodation Booking. Accommodation deposits are separate from the Stage 2 £50.00 tournament registration fee and may be non-refundable in accordance with the accommodation provider’s terms and conditions.
4.4
Each Participant who a confirmed Accommodation Booking has been made for will receive an event wristband from us when they check in at Gulliver’s Theme Parks resorts. Each Participant should retain this wristband throughout attendance at the Event. If Participants do not have their event wristbands then they may be refused entry or removed from the Event. If this occurs, we will not refund you any payments that you have made to us. Furthermore, we will not be liable for any additional costs or expenses incurred by you or your Participants as a result of any action taken by us including but not limited to transportation, clothing, equipment, food and other expenses.
4.5
You are responsible for ensuring that the Group Leader and your Participants book the accommodation by the timescales provided by us. Late Accommodation Booking may not be accommodated and failure to book by the specified deadline may lead to us cancelling the Event Booking for the relevant Participants or the whole Team and will result in refusal of entry and participation at the Event. If this occurs, we will not refund you any payments that you have made to us. Furthermore, we will not be liable for any additional costs or expenses incurred by you or your Participants as a result of any action taken by us including but not limited to transportation, clothing, equipment, food and other expenses.
4.6
Save for transportation bookings made in accordance with these Terms, transportation is not provided by us. You and your Participants are responsible for arranging and managing transportation in connection with the Event.
5. Booking General
5.1
By making a Booking, you confirm that:
5.1.1
all Players are eligible in accordance with our published tournament criteria, including the relevant age groups for the 2026/2027 season and any event-specific requirements shown on the event website;
5.1.2
you have obtained the necessary consents from your Team and other organisations or relevant area/national associations (if required) to attend the Event.
5.1.3
you have obtained the necessary consents from the Participants for whom the Booking is made;
5.1.4
you have carried out Disclosure and Barring Service checks where appropriate, in line with England Netball guidance or the relevant National Governing Body guidance for teams not based in England. You must also ensure that your Team complies with our safeguarding policies and any safeguarding requirements communicated before or during the Event;
5.1.5
you have followed and complied with all applicable laws and regulations;
5.1.6
the Group Leader is duly authorised by the relevant Team to make the Booking;
5.1.7
the Group Leader is aged 18 or above;
5.1.8
you have communicated these Terms to your Participants, and all Participants have confirmed to you that they agree to abide by them;
5.1.9
you have communicated our policies and procedures to your Participants, and all Participants have confirmed to you that they agree to abide by them
5.1.10
you have provided information to us and will continue to provide information to us that we may request from time to time that is true and accurate in all respects;
5.1.11
you will notify us of any changes to any information that you have provided as soon as possible;
5.1.12
any requests for further information, or in relation to Accommodation Booking by us will be met by the timescales requested by us;
5.1.13
there have been no acts of misconduct by the Team or any Participant at any previous events or festivals that are like the Event and/or any league or tournaments or competitions in the period 24 (twenty-four) months prior to the Event; and
5.1.14
all Participants have confirmed to you that they are medically fit to participate and attend the Event, and you are satisfied that such confirmation is true and correct and remains so at the Event.
5.2
It’s your responsibility to ensure that all information provided by you in connection with the Booking and Event is true and accurate and provided to us by the timeframes specified by us. If we do not receive the requested information by the timescales specified by us, or if we find any information to be unsuitable or inaccurate resulting in us deciding inability to participate in the Event, we will cancel your Booking for the Team or request that certain Participants are removed from the Event or replaced. In such circumstances, we will not refund you any payments that you have paid to us.
5.3
In addition to clause 5.2, we will not be liable for any additional costs, expenses or other sums incurred by you or your Participants as a result of our refusal of entry, attendance or removal of any individuals at the Event under any circumstances, including but not limited to accommodation, transportation, clothing, equipment, food and other expenses and sums.
6. Cancellation by you
7. Changes or Cancellation by us
7.1
We reserve the right to make minor changes to the Event. Minor changes include but are not limited to changes to itinerary that do not significantly alter the overall experience of the Event. You are not entitled to any payment for any sums for insignificant changes.
7.2
If we make significant changes to the Event such as venue, or dates, we will notify the Group Leader as soon as possible and provide the Group Leader with an option to:
7.2.1
accept the proposed changes; or
7.2.2
cancel the Booking with repayment of all payments that you have made to us in connection with the Booking; or
7.2.3
give you an option to accept an alternative Event.
7.3
We will notify your Group Leader of the timescales you must inform us of your decision and what happens if we do not receive your outcome.
7.4
If you choose to cancel your Booking under clause 7.2.2, we will refund you all payments that you have made to us in respect of the cancelled Booking within 28 (twenty eight) days of the cancellation.
7.5
Any change or cancellation under this clause 7 is effective from the date we send the Group Leader an email confirming the change or cancellation.
7.6Â Â Â Â Â
If a change to the Event or cancellation occurs pursuant to this clause 7, we will not be liable for any additional costs or expenses incurred by you or your Participants as a result of cancellation under any circumstances, including but not limited to accommodation, transportation, equipment, clothing and other expenses/sums.
8. Events beyond our reasonable control
8.1
We cannot accept liability or pay any compensation, refund or other sums for an event or sequence of events beyond our reasonable control preventing us or delaying us from performing our obligations under these Terms, including without limitation: strikes, lock-outs, labour disputes, acts of God, natural disasters, war, riots, civil commotion, malicious damage, imposition of sanctions, embargo, law, governmental order, rule, regulation or direction, accident, fire, explosion, building collapse, flood, drought, storm, pandemic or epidemic, nuclear or chemical or biological contamination, terrorism, adverse weather, closure of facilities such as venues and transportation, insufficient numbers, decisions by the relevant sporting body /netball association, decisions by any third party including but not limited to: accommodation provider, venue provider, decisions of other teams or participants not to fulfil fixtures, not turning up to the Event, cancellation or withdrawal from the Event.
8.2
Clauses 7.2, 7.3 and 7.4 shall not apply where we change or cancel the Event due to an event or events occurring pursuant to clause 8.1.
9. Payment
9.1
Prices for our Events, accommodation and timescales for payment are set out on the event website. All prices are in pounds sterling (£)(GBP) and include VAT at the applicable rate.
9.2
Prices for our Event and accommodation may change at any time. Except as set out in clause 9.3 below, such changes will not affect existing Event Bookings that we have approved in our Event Confirmation Email.
9.3
If there has been an error on the Netball X Events Ltd regarding the pricing of any of our Events or accommodation and this affects your Booking, we will try to contact you using the contact details you provided when you placed your Booking. We will give you the option to re-confirm your Booking at the correct price or to cancel your Booking. If we are unable to contact you, we may treat the Booking as cancelled and notify you by email.
9.4
We accept payment by credit cards and debit cards (excluding American Express). All credit card and debit card payments need to be authorised by the relevant card issuer. We also accept payment by bank transfer.
9.5
We will do all that we reasonably can to ensure that all the information you give us when paying for the services is secure by using an encrypted secure payment mechanism. However, in the absence of negligence on our part, any failure by us to comply with these Terms or ourPrivacy Policy or breach by us of our duties under applicable laws, we will not be legally responsible to you for any loss that you may suffer if a third party gains unauthorised access to any information that you give us.
9.6
If your payment is not received by us when due, we may charge interest on any balance outstanding at the rate of 3% (three percent)
10. Privacy and Data Protection Policy
10.1 Purpose of this policy
Netball X Events Ltd is committed to protecting personal information and respecting privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, share and protect personal information in connection with our website, enquiries, bookings, team registrations, residential netball tournaments, festivals, accommodation arrangements, safeguarding, welfare, photography, filming, communications and event administration.
10.2 Data protection legislation
We will handle personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and, where relevant, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. We will follow the key principles of lawfulness, fairness, transparency, purpose limitation, data minimisation, accuracy, storage limitation, security and accountability.
10.3 Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to personal information relating to Group Leaders, Teams, Players, parents, guardians, coaches, club officials, volunteers, spectators, accommodation-linked adults, event staff, contractors, suppliers and anyone else who contacts us, makes a Booking, attends an Event or takes part in a Netball X Events activity.
10.4 Personal information we may collect
We may collect personal information including names, contact details, team or club details, role, age group, date of birth or age where needed for eligibility, booking information, payment status, accommodation preferences, attendee numbers, emergency contact details, medical, allergy, dietary or accessibility information, safeguarding information, consents, photographs, video or audio recordings, correspondence, complaint information and information provided through our website, forms, email, telephone or event communications.
10.5 How we use personal information
We use personal information to manage Stage 1 provisional enquiries, process Stage 2 team registrations and tournament registration fees, issue Stage 3 confirmation emails and accommodation booking instructions, administer Events, confirm eligibility, manage fixtures and presentations, communicate with Group Leaders and Participants, support safeguarding and welfare, manage medical or emergency situations, process payments, handle complaints, comply with legal obligations, maintain records and improve our services.
10.6 Lawful bases for processing
We will rely on one or more lawful bases under UK data protection law depending on the purpose of the processing. These may include performance of a contract or steps before entering a contract, compliance with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in organising safe and effective events, consent where required, and vital interests where processing is necessary to protect someone in an emergency.
10.7 Children and young people
Because our Events may involve children and young people, we will take particular care when handling children’s personal information. We will only collect information that is reasonably necessary for participation, eligibility, safeguarding, welfare, health and safety, accommodation, communication and event administration. Group Leaders must ensure that appropriate parental, guardian, school or club authority has been obtained before providing information about children or young people to us.
10.8 Special category information
We may process special category information, such as health, medical, disability, allergy, dietary, accessibility or safeguarding information, only where it is necessary and lawful to do so. This may include processing needed for safe participation, safeguarding, emergency response, welfare support, reasonable adjustments, legal obligations, vital interests or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
10.9 Sharing personal information
We may share personal information with venues, accommodation providers, payment service providers, booking platforms, insurers, professional advisers, event suppliers, first-aid or medical providers, safeguarding leads, schools, clubs, National Governing Bodies, local authority children’s services, the police or regulators where this is reasonably necessary for event administration, accommodation, safeguarding, welfare, safety, legal compliance or dispute management. We will not sell personal information.
10.10 Photography, filming and media
Photography, filming and broadcasting may take place at our Events. Images, video or audio recordings may include Players, Participants, coaches, officials and spectators. We may use suitable event media for administration, safeguarding, information, promotion, website content, social media, brochures and other marketing materials, subject to our Photography and Videography terms, consents, reasonable objections and safeguarding considerations.
10.11 Marketing and service messages
We will only send marketing communications where we are permitted to do so under applicable law. Where consent is required, it may be withdrawn at any time. We may continue to send important service messages about bookings, payments, accommodation, event changes, safeguarding, safety, complaints or administration where necessary.
10.12 Data retention
We will keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. This may include retaining information for event administration, accounting, insurance, safeguarding, complaints, dispute management, legal record keeping and business administration. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the reason it is held.
10.13 Security
We will use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. Group Leaders must also take reasonable care when collecting, storing and sharing participant information, booking links, forms, medical details, consent information and event communications with their Team.
10.14 Individual rights and complaints
Individuals have rights under UK data protection law, which may include the right to access their personal information, request correction, request erasure, restrict or object to processing, request data portability where applicable, and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Some rights may be limited where we need to keep information for safeguarding, legal, insurance, contractual or legitimate event-administration reasons. If you have any questions or wish to exercise a data protection right, please contact us using the contact details in these Terms or on the event website.
10.15 Review of this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Events, booking processes, safeguarding procedures, technology, guidance or applicable law. The latest version will apply from the date it is published or otherwise made available.
11. Financial Protection ABOT
12. Limitation of our liability
12.1
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
12.2
Subject to clause 12.1, our total liability to you in respect of all other losses arising under or in connection with the Event, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, shall in no circumstances exceed the total amount paid by the Team for the Booking.
12.3
We shall not be liable to you for any of the following types of losses or damage whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise:
12.3.1
losses that were not foreseeable to you and us at the date of the Event Booking Confirmation Email;
12.3.2
losses that were not caused by any breach on our part;
12.3.3
business losses;
12.3.4
any indirect or consequential loss or damage
12.3.5
losses arising out of any equipment or property at the Event
12.3.6
losses arising out of any theft, damage, destruction or loss of any equipment or possession at the event
12.3.7
losses arising as a result of any acts or omissions of Participants, Team or Group Leaders or any other attendees or participants.
12.4
You and Participants must take all reasonable precautions to protect personal property. Subject to clause 12.1, we accept no liability for loss or damage to personal property or vehicles brought to the Event.
12.5
We may provide web links to or information about third party services that may be of interest to the Team and Participants. We are not responsible for and do not endorse the content of such third party services, and we accept no liability for any loss or damage that may arise from Participants’ use of them.
12.6
We are not responsible for the actions, omissions or obligations of third parties including but not limited to venue providers, accommodation providers and transportation services. Any issues, disputes or claims related to third party services must be resolved with the third party involved.
12.7
We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of the Participants during the Event.
12.8
We do not provide insurance cover for you or Participants. You are responsible for ensuring that adequate travel, accommodation and personal accident/ injury insurance is in place for all Participants to cover the activities involved in the Event. You must provide us with proof of coverage if requested by us.
12.9
We are not liable to you if we fail to comply with these Terms because of circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
12.10
You agree to be responsible for all acts and omissions of the Participants and you agree to indemnify us against any claims, damages, or expenses arising from the acts or omissions of the Participants during the Event.
13. Photography and Videography
13.1
During the Event, filming, photography and broadcasting may take place, which may capture you and Participants in images and/or recordings. For information about how such personal information will be used, please see our Privacy Policy on the event website.
13.2
By attending the Event, all Participants consent to being photographed and filmed by us or our authorised representatives and to record and use their voice, image and likeness captured by any means (including using mobile devices, telephones and cameras) during, at or around the Event. This may be used in photographic images and/or films for promotional and marketing purposes, including but not limited to, use on our Website, social media platforms, brochures and other promotional materials
13.3
By placing the Booking, you confirm that you have obtained the necessary consents from or on behalf of all of the Participants for their participation and attendance at the Event and for their images to be used as described in this clause 13.
13.4
If any Participant does not wish to be photographed or filmed, you must inform us in writing 14 days before the Event. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests however, please be aware that it may not always be possible to exclude individuals from all photographs or videos. 14. Disputes & Complaints
14.1
We will try to resolve any disputes with you quickly and efficiently. If you are unhappy with the services we have provided or any other matter, please contact us as soon as possible using the contact details set out at the top of this page.

The laws of England and Wales apply to these Terms.

15. Conduct at our Event and Ratios
15.1
All Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and considerate manner during the Event. Our Code of Conduct can be found on the event website.
15.2
In addition to the Code of Conduct mentioned at clause 15.1, the following requirements outline the behaviour and conduct expected of all Participants:
15.2.1
each Participant must show respect to fellow Participants, local communities, referees, Netball X Events staff, venue staff and other individuals. Any form of abusive, discriminatory, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated;
15.2.2
Participants must comply with all instructions and guidelines provided by us and our event partners. This includes health and safety instructions and local laws and regulations;
15.2.3
the possession and use of illegal substances is strictly prohibited during the Event. Participants found to be in possession of or under the influence of any illegal substances may be removed from the Event without refund;
15.2.4
Participants are responsible for any damage they cause to property or equipment during the Event. You agree to indemnify us for any losses, damages liability, cost and expenses incurred due to such damage;
15.2.5
Participants are expected to be punctual and adhere to the scheduled itinerary. Delays caused by individual Participants may result in the group missing scheduled activities including tournament fixtures and presentation ceremonies, for which we will not be held liable;
15.2.6
Participants are expected to dress appropriately for the activities involved in the Event. This includes wearing suitable clothing and footwear for sports and leisure activities. If we decide that the Participants are dressed unsuitably for the said activity then they will not be able to take part in the relevant sports and leisure activities without refund;
15.2.7
at least one responsible adult aged 21 or above must occupy each unit of accommodation.
15.3
By making the Booking, you confirm that you have communicated clauses 15.1 and 15.2 to all your Participants and that all Participants agree to abide by them.
15.4
Failure to adhere to clauses 15.1 and 15.2 may result in the offending Participant(s) and any connected Player(s) and/or other individual(s), Team being removed from the Event at our discretion, without any right to a refund, compensation or other sums. In such cases, you will be responsible for arranging alternative travel and accommodation for the removed Participant(s).
16. Intellectual Property
16.1
All content on our Website, including text, graphics and logo is our property and is owned or licensed by us.
16.2
You may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, or sell any information, or services obtained from the Website without our prior written consent.
17. General terms
17.1
You are not allowed to transfer your rights under these terms to anyone without our prior written consent. We may transfer our rights under these terms to another business without your consent, but we will notify you of the transfer and make sure that your rights are not adversely affected as a result.
17.2
If any provision of these terms (or part of any provision) is or becomes illegal, invalid or unenforceable, the legality, validity and enforceability of any other provision of these terms will not be affected.
17.3
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time, you will be notified of any changes.

By making a Booking and/or participating in the Event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms

Code of Conduct Policy
Netball X Events Code of Conduct
Netball X Events Ltd is committed to providing safe, welcoming and enjoyable netball festivals where everyone can take part, support and compete in a positive environment. This Code of Conduct applies to all Players, parents, guardians, spectators, coaches, team managers, group leaders, officials and other Participants attending or supporting a Netball X Events activity.
This Code is guided by recognised netball values including respect, teamwork, achievement, enjoyment, fairness, inclusion and good sportsmanship. Everyone involved in our Events is expected to behave honestly, responsibly and respectfully, and to help maintain a safe environment for children, young people and adults.
1. Code of Conduct for Parents, Guardians and Spectators
Parents, guardians and spectators must:
-
encourage Players to enjoy netball, try their best, play within the rules and respect officials’ decisions;
-
support effort, learning and teamwork rather than focusing only on results;
-
applaud good play, fair play and positive behaviour from all teams;
-
respect Players, coaches, team managers, officials, volunteers, event staff, venue staff and other spectators;
-
use appropriate language and behaviour at all times, including online and on social media;
-
follow instructions from Netball X Events staff, venue staff, officials and event representatives;
-
raise any concern calmly and through the appropriate coach, team manager, group leader, event representative or safeguarding contact;
-
support safeguarding, welfare, photography, video, accommodation and event policies communicated before or during the Event.
Parents, guardians and spectators must not:
-
pressure, criticise, ridicule or blame a Player for making a mistake or losing a match;
-
argue with, abuse, intimidate or harass officials, coaches, Players, volunteers, event staff or other spectators;
-
use discriminatory, offensive, threatening or inappropriate language or behaviour;
-
enter the playing area unless invited to do so by an official or event representative;
-
consume or be under the influence of alcohol, illegal substances or any substance that affects safe and appropriate behaviour at a youth netball activity;
-
post or share inappropriate comments, images or videos that could bring netball, a Team, a Player, an official or Netball X Events into disrepute;
-
ignore safeguarding, welfare or safety concerns.
2. Code of Conduct for Coaches, Team Managers and Group Leaders
Coaches, team managers and group leaders must:
-
place the welfare, safety and enjoyment of Players at the centre of all decisions;
-
promote fair play, respect, inclusion, teamwork and positive behaviour;
-
ensure Players understand the rules, expected standards of conduct and any event-specific requirements;
-
respect officials’ decisions and encourage Players and supporters to do the same;
-
communicate clearly with Players, parents, guardians, event staff and officials;
-
supervise Players appropriately throughout the Event, including fixtures, free time, presentations, travel and accommodation arrangements where applicable;
-
ensure appropriate consents, emergency contacts, medical information, safeguarding information and accommodation details are collected and shared where required;
-
follow safeguarding procedures, report concerns promptly and never investigate safeguarding concerns independently;
-
be punctual, prepared and appropriately dressed for their role;
-
challenge poor behaviour calmly and appropriately and support Netball X Events staff in resolving concerns.
Coaches, team managers and group leaders must not:
-
abuse or misuse any position of trust, authority or influence;
-
use abusive, discriminatory, intimidating or humiliating language or behaviour;
-
encourage dangerous, unfair or unsporting play;
-
criticise officials, Players or opposition teams in a way that undermines respect or safety;
-
communicate privately with children or young people in a way that conflicts with safeguarding guidance or Team policy;
-
ignore injuries, medical needs, welfare concerns, bullying, harassment or safeguarding issues;
-
attend or carry out their role while under the influence of alcohol, illegal substances or any substance that affects judgement or safe supervision.
3. Code of Conduct for Players
Players must:
-
play fairly, safely and within the rules of netball;
-
respect umpires, officials, coaches, team managers, teammates, opponents, volunteers, event staff and spectators;
-
listen to instructions from coaches, team managers, officials and Netball X Events representatives;
-
try their best, work hard for the Team and support teammates positively;
-
show good sportsmanship in victory and defeat;
-
treat everyone with dignity and respect, regardless of background, ability or personal characteristics;
-
speak to a trusted adult, coach, team manager, group leader or safeguarding contact if they feel unsafe, worried, bullied or uncomfortable;
-
follow event rules for venues, accommodation, travel, photography, social media and behaviour.
Players must not:
-
argue with officials or deliberately distract, provoke or intimidate another Player;
-
bully, threaten, exclude, discriminate against or make fun of anyone;
-
use offensive, abusive or inappropriate language, gestures or behaviour;
-
damage property, equipment, accommodation, venues or other people’s belongings;
-
use social media or messaging apps to upset, embarrass, target or criticise another person involved in the Event;
-
bring, use or be under the influence of alcohol, illegal substances or prohibited substances at the Event;
-
ignore safety instructions, medical advice or safeguarding concerns.
4. Breaches of this Code
Any breach of this Code of Conduct may be addressed by Netball X Events Ltd, the relevant Team, coach, team manager, group leader, venue, accommodation provider, safeguarding lead, National Governing Body or other appropriate authority. Depending on the seriousness of the concern, action may include a warning, removal from a match or activity, removal from the Event, refusal of entry, referral to safeguarding or disciplinary procedures, or notification to relevant authorities. No refund, compensation or other payment will be due where a Participant is removed or refused participation because of a breach of this Code or related event policies.
